Paludarium Requirements
They are well adapted to life in most kinds of aquatic habitats and are able to tolerate a wide range of water temperature ph and hardness conditions.
Paludarium requirements. The canopy is the topmost area of the paludarium that includes rocks plants and branches. The land dwellers or terrestrial species live in the canopy area. The installation of a turtle paludarium will require a tank with a frontage of at least 1 meter 3 2 ft long even if the turtle is small initially because it will promote its good growth.
You can buy small medium or a large tank to build a paludarium. For height choose a tank that can hold about 30 cm 12 inch of water and another 20 cm 8 inch for the dry part. Shrimp species such as cherry ghost or amano shrimp can enhance the appearance of the paludarium while providing a natural cleaning crew.
Just be sure to consider when selecting species that each fish should have similar requirements for water conditions hardness temperature ph should they be in the same water. The nice thing about this paludarium design is that they only need to be lightly fed and maintained once constructed. They are easy to care for and feeding requirements are minimal.
