Aquarium Eel Freshwater

Aquarium eels vary in size but we don t recommend keeping any species of eel in a tank of fewer than 35 gallons.

These fish are found all throughout the world in different habitats both tropical and temperate climates. Unfortunately freshwater eels are almost completely inadequate. This eel has unique markings that slightly resemble a peacock s plumage.

What is nice about these eels is that they usually get along. There are usually three to six of these types of spots. This fish needs to be kept in a tank that is about 10 gallons as a juvenile but as it grows you may need to upgrade to a larger tank.

In home aquariums most of the time you will find that people tend to keep more popular species.
